Usually people only go in their attics for two reasons: when they are buying a home, or selling a home.  And more often than not, in this part of the country, they will find mold.  Whether it has been there for 30 years or 30 days, the inspector will put it in his report that it needs to be removed.  Mold in your attic space has no affect on your living conditions in your home.  We are usually doing mold remediation in attics for strictly aesthetic purposes.  In the attached photos are a before photo of roof rafters in an attic with mold and the after photo is after we cleaned, treated and used a 3 part product to seal it as well.
